Good location with views across fields and pitches a good size. Covid-19 facilities were poor. There was no hand sanitiser anywhere and the toilets were not regularly cleaned. I had to email to ask when the toilets were supposed to be cleaned as they hadn't been cleaned in over 24 hours. Didn't receive a response from them but someone did go and pick up the toilet paper that had been on the floor all that time. The floor didn't look to have been cleaned in days as the same muck was on the floor for days. The toilet block is new but the washing up facilities were quite dirty and unloved. The final straw was when the septic tank overflowed and there was human excrement all around the washing up area. No one on site so left voicemail and email, again nobody got back to me. That was the final straw and I left early. Need to improve their cleaning regime and provide hand sanitiser otherwise if someone was onsite with Covid it would be easily transmitted.

Disappointing - that is my overall view of our stay at this site. First the good stuff: This is definitely a family friendly site, there a good number of spacious sunny flat pitches, with lots of space for children to run and play and explore. There are also pitches in a shady wooded area - nice if the weather is good, but could be a bit damp / cold otherwise. It is a quiet site and far enough away from the main roads to have minimal traffic noise. The noisiest noise came from the birds and farmers working late to get the crops in! There is plenty to do in the area and some good walks from the site - including one to The Plough at Cold Aston for a good meal! And the could be better stuff: The shower blocks are indeed new, but not very efficient. And not terribly well thought out. There aren't enough showers (just 2 for men and 2 for women). The doors to the shower blocks open up onto the main camping field - meaning that privacy can be undermined when using a washbasin as others come and go from the wash/shower blocks. A couple of private washbasin cubicles would have been great - and maybe the main doors at the other side of the building. The water is also a bit hit and miss - sometimes hot, sometimes not and sometimes a bit of both - causing a bit of jumping in and out! The biggest problem with the showers though is the drainage - which is really inefficient, meaning that when showering you are often paddling and it's tricky to leave the shower clean for the next person. They do look great for sure, but I'm not sure they do the job. They also weren't cleaned terribly well during our stay - there was rubbish in the shower gel holder on the night I arrived - and it was still there when I left. Part way through the weekend a mop and bucket appeared so that at least we could mop out after we had finished - but only one between male and female showers. The refuse area leads a lot to be desired too - the industrial bins were all placed at the 'junction' between the 3 camping fields and right next to washing up area. Children were playing nearby and there is even a pitch just across from the bins. The problem was exacerbated as every single bin - including the bottle bin was full to over-flowing and by the time we left there were rubbish bags on the floor near the bins and empty bottles stacked around the bottle bin. It would have been much better if the bin area was fenced off and preferably much nearer to the exit to the site and away from other facilities and pitches. In order for us to get from our pitch to wash up / use the shower blocks we had to walk past the bin area complete with wasps and flies. The washing up area has not yet been updated and so is quite grotty - it is also the area where a domestic fridge is available for campers to use - a great facility, but not sure the placing was very hygienic. The chemical waste area is away from most of the pitches - although it is the shady field and quite close to some pitches there. It is also not fenced off or covered and children were playing nearby. There was access to a freezer for ice blocks - again a great service, but this was in the reception room and the room was often locked - meaning that access to your ice blocks was denied. This happened to us twice in a three night stay. And finally the price - we paid £28 per pitch (including elec) per night. In July we paid £10 less per night for a similar site with better facilities in Cornwall. This makes me feel that for the quality of the facilities this campsite is overpriced. This is a site, in my opinion, that can walk the walk, but not talk the talk (or as my mother might have said 'all fur coat and no knickers'!)

This is such a beautiful property! Every view is like a scene from a film. The facilities are new and sparkling clean. The management is extremely accommodating. Access to many wonderful walks, including one that lead to the delightful town of Cold Astin which had a welcoming pub. We will definitely make a particular effort to visit again!

Great location, lovely staff. Basic facilities but no complaints regarding cleanliness. I felt a bit hard done by having to pay an additional £1 for a shower - with a family of four over a 3 night stay this soon added up. Staff tell us that the new shower block (which is under construction) will feature showers at no extra charge. We were initially allocated a pitch over looking fields, which would have been nice but we asked to switch to a spot in among the trees near the house and this was so much nicer than the regimented lines of tents/caravans in the newer part of the site. We would (and probably will) stay here again.

Very nice setting, clean and tidy, only thing the shower heads could be replaced with a more gentle spray, apart from that really good.
